We're Ludo and Susanne, the people behind every dive, every course and every underwater adventure you'll experience with us.
ScubaCourse Spain isn't a large dive centre with rotating staff or anonymous instructors. When you book with us, you'll be diving with the same people you've read about here. We believe that learning to dive—or simply enjoying a day beneath the surface—should be personal, relaxed and unforgettable.
For more than 18 years, diving has been at the centre of our lives.
From Commercial Diving to Teaching the Underwater World
Those years taught us the importance of professionalism, precision, teamwork and above all, safety.
Our journey began in commercial diving, working in the busy ports of Rotterdam and Algeciras. Those years taught us the importance of professionalism, precision, teamwork and above all, safety.
As rewarding as commercial diving was, we discovered that our greatest passion wasn't working underwater—it was sharing the underwater world with others.
That passion led us to become active PADI Instructors, while also earning CMAS and FEDAS instructor qualifications. Today we spend our days introducing divers from all over the world to the beautiful waters of the Costa del Sol.
Whether it's someone's very first breath underwater or helping an experienced diver continue their education, we love seeing the excitement that diving brings.
We Don't Just Show You Fish—We Help You Understand Them
When you understand what you're looking at, every dive becomes more meaningful.
One thing that makes our dives a little different is that every dive starts before we even enter the water.
Before each dive, we introduce you to some of the marine life you're likely to encounter.
Perhaps you'll meet a colourful Cuckoo Wrasse and learn how males and females look completely different. Maybe we'll explain where octopuses hide, how nudibranchs survive, or why a seemingly ordinary patch of rocks is actually home to dozens of fascinating species.
When you understand what you're looking at, every dive becomes more meaningful.
Our goal isn't simply to show you marine life—it's to help you appreciate it.
Many of our divers tell us that these brief introductions completely change the way they experience the underwater world.
A Personal Approach to Teaching
Every diver is different.
Some people are excited and adventurous from the very first minute, while others need a little more time to build confidence.
Susanne's background as a social pedagogue gives her a wonderful ability to work with children, families and nervous beginners. Her calm and patient nature helps people relax quickly, making their first underwater experiences enjoyable rather than intimidating.
Together, we believe that the best instructor is one who adapts to the student—not the other way around.
That's why we teach in small groups and always work at your pace.
Your Holiday Should Feel Like a Holiday
We've designed our diving around one simple idea:
You should spend your time enjoying the sea—not carrying equipment or worrying about logistics.
After booking online, we'll meet you directly at the dive site.
We'll already have everything prepared for you.
Once the dive is over, you don't need to rinse equipment, carry heavy cylinders or spend time cleaning gear. We personally wash, disinfect and dry all of our equipment after every dive.
You simply enjoy your dive, relax afterwards, and make the most of your time on the Costa del Sol.

After thousands of dives over nearly two decades, we've learned that the right equipment makes a huge difference to comfort, safety and enjoyment.
Because we use Cressi equipment ourselves every day, we can give honest advice based on real experience—not sales targets. Whenever possible, our divers can even try equipment during their dives before deciding whether it's right for them.
We only recommend equipment we personally trust.
Discover Full Face Mask Diving
We're also an official Ocean Reef Dive Center.
Full face mask diving is one of the most exciting developments in recreational scuba diving. Unlike many centres that only use this equipment occasionally, it's part of our everyday diving.
Whether you're simply curious, interested in underwater communication, or considering purchasing your own system, we're happy to let you experience it first-hand and explain why we enjoy diving with it so much.
