Growing up to 55 cm in length, this striking species is a highlight for divers exploring the waters of southern Spain. Along the Costa del Sol, Zebra Sea Bream are regularly spotted on dive sites around Estepona, Casares Coast, Sotogrande, and San Roque. They inhabit a variety of underwater environments, including rocky reefs, sandy seabeds, and Posidonia seagrass meadows, typically between 5 and 150 meters depth. Divers most commonly encounter them between 10 and 40 meters. Zebra Sea Bream are social and curious fish, often swimming in small groups or pairs.
